REVIVAL PHOENIX
Revival Poenix is the batch name of the revived undergraduates chapter here in Surigao City after 23 years
of last recruits who all vanished wayback 1984.
The history of revival begins when the Alpha Sigma Phi Surigao City/del Norte aim to organize the fraternity cooperative
initiated by Nestor Alutaya and Boy Ga.
A series of meetings was conducted at the junkshop/residence of Calixto Pasu-it to discuss the possibility of forming
a cooperative, however, the active alphans who were present during that several meetings decided that the association should
reorganize first before forming a fraternity cooperative.
On November 19, 2006 the general meeting was realized at Gateway Hotel, Surigao City, since only 17 out of more than
50 members were present during the assemly, the body decided to elect only an interim officers until such time the association
called another assembly for election for permanent positions.
The newly elected officers were Gerry Z. Bacud (Beta Chapter), President, Nestor Alutaya (Gamma Delta Chapter)
Vice President, Nicanor G. Porpayas (Alpha Epsilon Chapter) Secretary, Gemma Entendez ( Gamma Delta) Treasurer, Ahdy
Taliman (Gamma Delta) P.I.O, and Boy Ga (Gamma Delta) Auditor.
The dinner party of December 6, 2006 Anniversarry held at Hotel Tavern was attended by the majority of the members,
during that night it was agreed and voted by the body that the interim officers elected during the last assembly will be served
as permanent officers of the association it was agreed also that the regular meeting of the association will be done once
a month on every last friday. Many were commit their support to the newly installed set of officers programs which is to recruit
and revive the long dead undergraduates chapter of Surigao City, as a proof Charlo Basadre and Mon Monteros hosted the first
monthly meeting of 2007 at conference room of Mines Geosciences Bureau on January 26, 2007.
Even though the first monthly meeting of 2007 were not attended by the majority. the member who was present decided to
create a Pledge Education And Recruitement Committee to administered the recuitement procedure.
Gerry Z. Bacud was again choosen as Chairman, Nicanor G Porpayas as Vice Chairman and the rest of the members who were
present was automatically appointed as member of the committee, namely: Charlo Basadre, Mon Monteros,Ahdy Taliman, Eddie
Caņeda, Nono Rabaya & Boy Ga. The committee decided to have an recruitement orientation on February 16, 2007 at Peng-U
Grill, Surigao City. On the night of the orientation 9 students from different colleges were pledge as neophytes to the
organization and on February 23, 2007 the formal pledging ceremony was held at function room of helping foundation.
On March 3, 2007 during Alpha Day,Charlo Basadre handed over the Quest of Excellence Book 1 & 2 to Nick Porpayas
as official manual for Pledge Education Program for Neophyte.
On March 24, 2007 the committee finally initiated 7 students out of 9 who actually were actually pledged to the organizaton.
after 23 years the chapter is now revived and hopefully would continue to the hands to the 7 newly young Alphans namely: Irene
May L Cagula (STI), Socrates E. Sagragao (STI), Evelyn Espenancia (Transferred to Manila), Ariel Escobido(Graduated),
Joy Anthony Gevana (SPUS), Cheyenne Miranday(STI), & Jestoni R. Requillo (SURSTACT).
